Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
General DOT Compliance
A DOT physical is a federally mandated medical exam that ensures a commercial driver is physically and mentally fit to operate a commercial vehicle. It’s required by the FMCSA to maintain safety on the road.
Typically every 2 years, but drivers with certain medical conditions (like high blood pressure or diabetes) may be required to test annually or more frequently.
Yes. Our Combo Package includes the DOT physical, drug test, and alcohol test in a single appointment—saving you time and money.
You may be temporarily disqualified from driving. We’ll explain next steps, such as seeing a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) for failed drug or alcohol tests.
Walk-ins are welcome. We also accept same-day and scheduled appointments. Our Houston clinic is open late and on weekends.
Drug & Alcohol Testing
We use a 5-panel, lab-based urine drug test that screens for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, and PCP.
Not always for pre-employment, but it is mandatory for post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and return-to-duty scenarios.
It’s done using a certified breathalyzer device. If the initial test is positive, a confirmation test is performed after 15–30 minutes.
A Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.04% or higher is considered a failed test under DOT regulations.
Many test results are available the same day, while lab-based drug tests may take 24–48 hours.
Pre-Employment & Employer Screening
